Three years ago David de Rothschild read the devastating UNEP report, ‘Action Urged to Avoid Deep Trouble in the Deep Seas’ which detailed the devastation caused by waste in our oceans. This report fueled the idea of what would eventually become Plasiki – an expedition which will visit areas affected by global warming and rising oceans capturing the worlds imagination and effecting change. David along with skipper Jo Royle, co skipper David Thaomas and brave crew members will sail from San Francisco to Sydney in The Plastiki, a boat made from plastic bottles. Their goal is to educate the world of the perils of plastic.
